DANCE FESTIVAL

PALAZZO TE

First edition of the Dance Festival at Palazzo Te

ABOUT

We are pleased to announce the first edition of the Palazzo Te Dance Festival, organized on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of this world-famous historic monument. The Monreart Foundation, with the support of Marina Genovesi, the City of Mantua and the Fondazione Palazzo Te, is proud to present a unique event: Palazzo Te will open its doors to dance.

Inside the museum’s beautiful frescoed rooms, real dance studios equipped with cushioned platforms will be set up, ensuring that dancers can perform in complete safety.

Students from all over the world will have the opportunity to study different dance techniques. A big new feature of this edition is a class with the Balanchine technique, taught by Miami City Ballet principal dancer Rainer Krenstetter. In addition, students will be able to participate in a choreography workshop with renowned dancer and choreographer Nnamdi Nwagwu, and study with Ilenia Montagnoli and Tommaso Renda, co-founders and artistic directors of the Monreart Foundation, as well as former professional dancers from the Berlin Opera.

To further enrich the artistic background of aspiring dancers, classes in theatrical makeup and acting will be organized.

At the end of these four days of study, all the students will have the opportunity to take the stage and perform the choreography they learned during the workshop, alongside great dancers. The event will culminate in a memorable Gala evening, held in the gardens of this incredible work of art.

The most outstanding students may also be selected to dance a solo variation during the Gala evening.

Great news for all dance enthusiasts of all ages! This year, we offriamo a unique opportunity for those who have always loved dance but have never had the chance to practice it. They will be able to participate in an exclusive class designed just for them, in a welcoming environment with no performance anxiety. It will be the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in the pleasure of moving, without pressure, and for a few hours feel part of a parallel world where dance becomes a pure expression of joy and freedom.
